June 12, 2011

EAA Chapter 922 met June 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm at AXV. There were five members and one guest present. Those present were: Marc Hines, Dick Murray, Todd Bills, Walt Vogel, Mike Schnell and Ann Vogel, guest.

President Todd Bills called the meeting to order and asked that the May minutes be read. They were read and approved. There was no treasurer’s report. Last month the balance was $169.26.

Old Business: The Young Eagles Day was discussed. It was decided to try to have our Young Eagles Day in the fall, possibly September. We will attempt to get a newspaper article in The Daily Standard this time. Mike S. announced that next weekend he is planning to go to Goshen, IN to fly a few Young Eagles.

There was not any new business, however there was still plenty of hanger talk. Todd B. told the group that he flew with someone to Greenville, SC, picked up parts and then on to Appleby, IA where they were delivered to the John Deere plant. He also has been busy working on his airplane project with the engine being “dry built”. Dick M. announced that there was a new private pilot, and briefly told of her experiences of purchasing an aircraft. The conversation then went to discussing the pro and con of tig and gas welding.

The Explorer Scout group met today and Todd was going to take a few up for a ride. They will also try to go to Urbana Wednesday to see the Ford Tri-Motor.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
